Mandy's story...

Mandy, a chef and baker has been running her own cafes for over 22 years, starting with the Globe café on High street, Christchurch.

Following the establishment of the Globe, Mandy opened the smaller Café Mondo just down the road, before heading to the hills and opening the Powerhouse in Hanmer Springs, all have been great successes, due the simple recipe of loving what you do, taking care to produce great food and coffee while paying a attention to give the best customer service.

Mandy with her Mum Helen as her business Partner were lucky enough to be able to buy the Under the Red Verandah property and have been running it since 2005. Helen retired some years ago, but it continues to be a family affair with Mandy’s children now working in the busine
